Greyhound Betting Markets Available at BresBet
You’ll find a wide range of greyhound betting markets at BresBet. These are the most popular betting options:
- Single: A simple bet on a dog to win a particular race. For example, you could bet on No. 4 (Harrier Sam) to win the 16.41 race at Perry Barr.
- Double: A bet on two dogs to win separate races. For example, you could bet on No. 2 (Blackrose Bowen) to win the 17.03 at Towcester and No. 5 (Taylor Blue) to win the 17.06 at Kinsley. Both dogs must win for the bet to pay off.
- Other accumulators: A treble is a bet on three dogs to win separate races. You can also place a four-fold accumulator, a five-fold accumulator, a six-fold acca, and so on. There are lots of other options, including a round robin, a Yankee, a Lucky 15 and a Lucky 31.
- Forecast: This bet requires you to predict the winner and the runner-up, in that exact order. For example, you could bet on No. 3 to win and No. 5 to finish second.
- Reverse Forecast: Choose two dogs, and they can finish first or second in any order. A £10 reverse forecast would cost you £20, as it’s essentially two separate bets.
- Combination Forecast: Choose three dogs, and place six separate forecasts on them, covering each possible combination. A £5 combination forecast would cost you £30.
- Tricast: Predict the first three dogs to finish the race, in the exact finishing order. For example, No. 2 to win, No. 1 to finish second and No. 4 to finish third. Tricasts typically lead to larger payouts than forecasts, as they’re harder to predict.
- Combination Tricast: Choose three dogs and place six tricasts on them, covering all six potential combinations. As such, a £5 combination tricast requires a total stake of £30.
- Ante Post Betting: This refers to any bets placed before the final field is declared. We offer ante post betting on lots of greyhound races, and you’ll often be able to place your bets several days before the race begins.
Each-Way Bets
An each-way bet is separated into two parts:
- One on the greyhound to win the race.
- Another on the greyhound to place.
For that reason, a £5 each-way bet would cost you £10. If your chosen dog wins the race, both parts of the bet will pay out. If the dog places, only the place part of the bet will pay out.
Betting Markets On All The Major Greyhound Races & Events
You can bet on dozens of greyhound races each day at BresBet. However, ante post betting is only available on the biggest races. These are the most important greyhound races to mark in your calendar:
Greyhound Derby
The English Greyhound Derby is the most prestigious race of the year in Britain. This race began all the way back in 1927, when a dog called Entry Badge stormed to victory. It was previously held at White City and Wimbledon, but Towcester has hosted the event since 2017. The winner of the English Greyhound Derby takes home £175,000, so it’s a ferociously competitive event. BresBet routinely offers some of the best ante post prices for the English Greyhound Derby.
Irish Greyhound Derby
This is the premier greyhound race in Ireland. The Irish Greyhound Derby was inaugurated in 1928, and it is held at Shelbourne Park. It’s considered one of the two biggest races of the year, along with the English Greyhound Derby. The prize purse is €300,000, with €125,000 going to the winner.
St Leger Greyhound
The St Leger is an original classic of greyhound racing. It was held at Wembley from 1928 to 1998, before moving to Wimbledon, Perry Barr and then Nottingham in 2025. The St Leger is a true staying test, as it unfolds over 730 metres, and the winner claims the £20,000 top prize.
